Originally starting life as Baillie Marshall we have evolved to become Altar, one of Scotland’s largest creative marketing agencies. From award winning designers and developers to media relations and digital marketing experts, we service a large variety of clients across Scotland and the UK. In the last 10 years we have been nominated as finalists for 26 national awards, having received commendations and won five awards.

Based in Dundee, we started life as Baillie Marshall in 1980 and we’ve grown to become one of Scotland’s largest creative agencies.
In 1987 we evolved into Avian, expanding our services to include cutting-edge website and app development.
Won our first Scottish Digital Business Award.
In 2014, we acquired Blue Square Design, and created Blue2, a powerhouse of digital expertise that helped the group continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in digital and communication.
Blue2 won our second Scottish Digital Business Award.
Blue2 Win Digital Business of the Year.
Our journey of growth didn’t stop there. In 2019, we set up Kolabo our R&D and digital innovations company.
Winners of best Scottish E-commerce Website for our work with Simon Howie – The Scottish Butcher.
In 2020, we acquired local PR firm, Ginger PR, and added PR, comms and content development expertise into our team.
Later that year, we formed the ALTAR Group, an umbrella company for our trading brands. This marked the beginning of a new chapter, combining decades of experience with a renewed focus on delivering integrated solutions across brand, digital, and communications.
Won a commendation at the Scottish Design Awards.
2024 we acquired Denvir Marketing, a Stirling based marketing and digital consultancy.
